What Water Shortage? Don’t you know, Pattaya is currently experiencing a sever water shortage. Is it global warming? Is it massive expansion on the eastern seaboard of Thailand? Or is it just not enough people showering with a friend. Probably, all of the above. However, it’s no time to panic, just try and be sensible with your water use.
The water levels at Mabprachan Reservoir have fallen to their lowest level in recent memory. They are so low that the pumps can no longer maintain a regular flow to the homes and businesses of Pattaya. Without substantial rainfall the water in Mabprachan will be exhausted within two months. Other reservoirs in Chonburi province have low water levels but not as low as Mabprachan. It is up to all of us to conserve water.
There are a few things that we can do to be prepared in the event the water is off. Buy a water container and keep it in your shower. You can use it to help control how much water you use every day and also as a backup for those time when the water is off. Buy a few extra bottles of water and keep them in resever for an emergency.
Recycle the water that you use. For example, put a large bucket or tub in your shower and save the water that you use when you take a shower. This water is perfect for reuse to flush your toilet. Also, save any and all water from washing clothes, washing dishes, washing the car, washing the dog. Use your imagination. Conserve and recycle.
Think positive to live long and prosper. Be in the now and live, love and laugh. Be happy and don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t worry everything is small stuff.
