Social Order
The Thai government is succeeding in making Pattaya and Thailand a better place with the “Social Order” programs. Yes, you can see it all around Pattaya. The beaches are cleaner and the ocean is less polluted. The pollution is being cleaned up and the garbage is being hauled away. There is a new pride in the community. The retail rip-offs and the kiosk cheaters are being educated and there products confiscated. The fish are coming back to Pattaya Bay. The dolphins are swimming in Pattaya Bay. The fishermen are on the beaches and at the pier. Beach road has been repaved and sidewalks have been fixed. There are places where wheelchair riders can cross the streets without having to jump the curbs. The nightclubs and bars are starting to close at 2am and they have kicked out the kids and the drug users. There is a possibility that the clubs might be allowed to stay open until 4am in the future. The people in the streets that hassle the tourists are being pulled off the streets and given a lesson on how not to bother the tourists. Drugged and drunken teenagers are being arrested. Karaoke bars and snooker clubs are learning to turn away teenagers that are trouble. Motor bike riders that are racing on the streets have been arrested and their bikes have been taken away by the Police. The police are everywhere and there are under-cover cops too. The people are learning to report problems to the Police. Traffic problems are being studied and solutions are coming. Pattaya City Hall and the Mayor are working on plans for the future of Pattaya. Pattaya is growing. Everything isn't perfect in Pattaya, but it is still better than other places in the world. That's why you're here. Right? Beggars on the streets are learning that there are better ways of making a living. Muggers and thugs are being caught and arrested and the unlucky ones are being “talked” to by the Thai people with sticks and whips.
Pattaya is changing for the better. The criminals, drug addicts and the alcoholics are finding Pattaya not to their liking and are leaving for other parts of the world. The tourists are having a great vacation and might even come back, if we all do our part to insure that they are happy. We must get involved. We must do our part, no matter how small. Don’t waste water. Recycle things. Care for Pattaya, rather then just complain about things. Take care of yourself too. Enjoy life. Love each other and laugh a lot. Count your blessings. You’re lucky to be in Pattaya.
