Well, sports fans, I found an oasis in the quiet suburbs of Pattaya. It is in a luxury neighborhood. It’s called the “Dao Café”. It is located across Sukhumvit Road and the railroad tracks; club house 18/382 moo Ban Chatkhaw 9 Soi Khao Noi. Call them at 038-427-041.
It is so much more than a café. There is fresh paint and it looks so spotless. My wife and I love new things. The “Dao” has been remodeled and expanded with more new accommodations for their guests. The “Dao” has proven popular with those people that have stayed there before and have returned for another great time in Pattaya.
They have the best swimming pool in Pattaya. The pool is one of those pools that the water comes up to the edge and spills into a drain. It is huge and is shaped like the letter “Z”, sort of. The walkway is made of very small aggregate stone, which makes walking around the pool soft and cool on the bottoms of your feet. The stone is tan color, which adds to the appearance of style and luxury. The pool is a two tone blue. Around the sides of the pool are covered private lounging areas. Some of the lounging areas have thatched covers for shade. It is all so plush and fancy. The shape of the pool gives you a feeling of privacy, so you and your child or wife or parents can enjoy the pool and each other company too. It’s great. You really need to see it. The pool and shaded area is easy on your eyes.
Next to the pool are a BBQ, a small bar and an open dining area with several small tables and chairs. I think most people eat under the cover of their private lounging area around the pool in the afternoon. Maybe dinner is taken in the evening in the dining area because it is more or less formal and you and family and friends can eat at a table. The kitchen is in view next to the dining area so you and inspect the kitchen and watch as the chef prepares your meal.
The “Dao Cafe” has been open for four years. It is popular with the people who live in Pattaya because of the food and atmosphere. The “Dao Café” opens at 7am for breakfast. They have the best breakfast in Pattaya because of its quality and price. Those that know have found out that you can have either an American breakfast or a French breakfast for a mere 70 Baht. Now that’s a deal.
The French chef knows how to prepare a quality meal and that’s what it takes to attract a regular following of dinners at the “Dao Café”. He is an experienced chef. The serve breakfast, lunch and dinner of course. However, they also have snacks too.
